Internship

Internships are available to those who are enrolled in a post-graduate training in CBT. Interns must commit to working at the CBT-Partnership for at least a period of 12 months. . Services for (aspiring) Cognitive Behaviour Therapists

Most clinicians of the CBT-Partnership also have experience in teaching about cognitive behaviour therapy and supervision (aspiring cognitive behaviour therapies). We collaborate intensively with the University of Hertfordshire on the Post Graduate Diploma and Masters Programme in Cognitive Behaviour Therapies. The University programme offers a comprehensive programme and will enable successful students to apply CBT competently, effectively and efficiently in real life. The content of this programme focuses on the practical application of CBT. The first year of the programme aims to satisfy the requirements of the IAPT National Curriculum and the BABCP accreditation. Students who successfully complete this first year will be awarded the Post Graduate Diploma in CBT. Clinical Supervision for CBT-ers

Cognitive Behaviour Therapists have spent quite a long and intensive period studying before they qualify as ‘accredited Cognitive Behaviour Therapists’. Part of the training is ‘clinical supervision’. This is when the trainees present their work to qualified CBT-ers and learn from their advice and counsel. Once qualified, the learning does not stop. Qualified CBT therapists need to demonstrate that they continue to invest in their learning by attending training workshops and participating in further clinical supervision. The CBT-Partnership is proud to announce that from January onwards we will be convening a CBT supervision group for both students of CBT and qualified CBT therapists. The group will take place on most Saturday mornings from 10-12.

Case Review for CBT-ers

Clinical supervision focuses on the skills and techniques that the therapist uses in the treatment of clients. In the case review group the focus is on the factors that cause and maintain the problems for the client. However experienced the therapist is, there will always be problems of clients that are difficult to understand and for which the therapist finds it difficult to design an optimum treatment plan. Therapists will present their (anonomysed of course) case conceptualizations of clients in the group and use the feedback of the supervisor and the group to enhance their understanding of client’s problems. This will then help in designing a better treatment plan for the client’s problems. This group will take place on most Tuesday Evenings from 6-8.

You can now sign up for one of our ‘Meet the CBT Team’ lunch meetings. These are convened each second Friday of the month from 12-2 PM. Lunch is provided and one of the team will present on a current CBT-topic. Click for upcoming sessions
