Who is a twat anyway? Oct 28, 05:34 PM

Lots of twats tweet, but on reall twats complain about being called twats
A story in the news was about David Cameron using the word ‘twat’ during a live radio interview. The whole world seemed to be in uproar about the terribleness of his action. Some clever klutz had looked up the word twat in a dictionary and guess what it has a politically incorrect meaning. Poor David Cameron had no option but to apologise for his actions…..Language is used to convey a meaning, language is about communication and clear communication is important. As a clinical psychologist and a teacher of cognitive behaviour therapy I often find it necessary to communicate clearly to my clients and students what I mean, and I have to admit it, I often use the F word and other politically incorrect expressions, even at times the word twat. The obsession in the UK to absolutely NOT UPSET ANYONE leads to a sanitised language that at times is devoid of meaning. We are creating a world with so many shoulds and should nots that to have a normal heated debate becomes impossible. It is much better to accept that in aheated debate we are inclined to use strong language and as long as we are not using direct insults to the person in front of us I can can’t see anything wrong with it. Shame David Cameron apologised, would have voted for him is hadn’t, but had said that all those who are moaning are the real twats.
