Donna received a First Class Honours Degree in Psychology and Zoology from Bristol University in 1982. She went on to complete her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology at the Institute of Psychiatry in London. Since qualifying as a Clinical Psychologist in 1986 Donna has worked in a number of NHS settings, adopting primarily a Cognitive Behavioural approach to child and family mental health issues. She has been involved in a research project investigating Self-Injurious Behaviour in people with severe learning difficulties. Donna has also been extensively been involved in teaching child clinical psychology to psychology students, medical students and other related professionals.
She has joined the CBT-Partnership to be able to focus in her work as a therapist on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.
Previous Experience & Training
Donna has worked as a Clinical Psychologist for Kingston and Esher Health Authority and Leicester Mental Health Services Trust. Her work encompassed children ranging from birth (in a special care baby unit) right through to adolescence. She has worked in many different facilities including in-patient and out- patient mental health settings, schools, hospitals and individual’s homes. As well as mental health and behavioural issues she has also treated children with specific, moderate and severe learning difficulties. Donna was responsible for organising and delivering the Child Clinical Psychology component of the Leicester University Clinical Psychology Master's Degree course and she has developed training programmes for school nurses, health visitors and staff in care homes.
